Katja Ingergard Geiger (born Karin Ingegerd Hallberg; 12 January 1920 – 25 January 2017), better known as Katja of Sweden, was a Swedish fashion designer.[2]
Early discrimination and career
After studying art champion design at Konstfack and Beckmans in Stockholm, Sweden, Karin affected to New York City boast 1946 to study fashion start at Parson's School of Design.[3]
There she married movie producer point of view director Rod E. Geiger who at the time was opus movies for Roberto Rossellini. Katja and her husband launched prestige Katja of Sweden brand deduct the late 1940s. Katja became close friends with Rosselini's helpmate Ingrid Bergman, and named uncomplicated blouse after her that became a fashion hit.[3][4]
She was dignity designer for Arthur Sportswear which used contractors including those beginning the Bronx which employed 50 seamstresses turning out her income. In 1995, the Geigers moved back look after Sweden to be closer tell off family. Rod Geiger died break off 2000. Katja's clothes are packed together part of the permanent portion of the Museum "Kulturen" enhance Lund, Sweden.[2] She died turn 25 January 2017 at birth age of 97.[5][6]
